Highs, Lows, and a Belgian Masterclass: Gough and Wrigley Wrap Up 2024 British GT Campaign
From electrical gremlins at Silverstone to a thrilling victory at Spa-Francorchamps, the Pace Motorsport Finance-backed duo finish 3rd in the GT4 Pro-Am standings.
Following a tough, character-building outing at the wet and unpredictable Silverstone 500, Ian Gough and Tom Wrigley set out to turn their 2024 Intelligent Money British GT Championship season around. Competing in the Century Motorsport-prepared, Pace Motorsport Finance-backed BMW M4 GT4, the pair proved once again wh
y they remain one of the most formidable Pro-Am pairings on the grid.
Victory at the Ardennes: Spa-Francorchamps
The undisputed highlight of the second half of the season came during British GT’s annual trip across the Channel to Spa-Francorchamps. In a race marked by early red flags and intense action, Gough kept the #29 BMW firmly in contention during a clean first stint.
A sharp pit strategy from Century Motorsport allowed Wrigley to vault into the net race lead after the pit window opened. Wrigley then delivered a masterful drive around the famous Belgian circuit to extend his advantage and claim a spectacular GT4 victory—the pair’s first win of the 2024 season.
Podiums, Points, and a Top-3 Championship Finish
The Spa victory provided the momentum boost the team needed after early-season technical gremlins. Gough and Wrigley delivered consistent, point-scoring drives across the remaining rounds, battling fiercely against a ultra-competitive GT4 field.
When the chequered flag fell on the season finale at Brands Hatch, their efforts were rewarded with a hard-earned 3rd place finish in the GT4 Pro-Am Driver Standings.
Fueling Motorsport Success
As motorsport finance specialists, Pace Finance is immensely proud to have supported Ian and Tom throughout their 2024 campaign. Navigating the highs of a victory at Spa alongside the setbacks earlier in the year, the pair demonstrated the grit, strategy, and sheer speed required to succeed at the highest level of UK GT racing.
We would like to congratulate Ian, Tom, Century Motorsport, and all involved on another outstanding season on the grid!
